No, it's a lamp with bright, white light, simulating sun-light. It's to avoid winter depression ... We have entered the time of all-grey-days here ...
oh - and the lamp doesn't give any tan ;-) - it just brightens up the room and makes your brain think that the sun actually exsists, even here, at this time of year :-)

I'm not sure ... But it doesn't hurt :-) And it does give a lot of extra light to the room :-)
